一，关于Visual Jockey（视频骑士）
提到vj自然就会与电子音乐，绚丽的背景图像联系到一起。我们印象中的vj就是现场操控与电子乐相搭配的视觉影像。也就是把视觉上的影像听觉上的音乐完美契合的调味师。
vj与dj的概念具有一定的相似性，将影像动画音频等元素做现场的即兴剪接，并添加一定的效果，即兴所带来的独特的偶然性也是不可替代的，vj利用各种设备和技术使视频与画面在现场达到和谐统一的效果。
随着现代技术，与潮流文化的进一步发展，vj逐渐渗透到了更多的行业与领域，在夜店CLUB丶演唱会丶服装秀丶艺文空间等各种场合和任意活动上随着音乐风格丶节奏即时制作丶混合(mix)影像的视觉创作者都被划分到了vj的领域。 
二，Vj的案例与原理
我列举的两个案例是vj最常见的两种方式：
案例1：vj利用软件制作动画 这个案例中的动画是利用3d软件制作的（类似Cinema 4D）这类软件制作的vj动画具有极强的可操控性，制作者可以根据音乐以及假象的环境来组织动画的内容及形式。
案例2：vj利用已有的视频素材类似录像，剪辑过的短片甚至电视节目等，将这些元素组合在一起。这种拼凑的感觉需要vj对整体音乐与视频有相当的把握才不会带来零碎的感觉，而这些不可操控的偶然性也正是这个案例的独到处。

三，vj行业的发展前景：
vj的应用将会更加广泛，vj的前景也将更加看好。
就目前而言中国的vj根本没有形成气候，也只局限在club或是夜店的小型演出，而在国外vj的发展已经拥有相当的一段历史了（Underworld与Tomato的合作"Everything, Everything"现场实况；Ninja Tune旗下DJ的专辑多附上影像创作，以及电音大厂Moonshine的AV:X系列等等。另外着名的英国当代视觉影像展[ onedotzero ]，这一两年也专注在VJ领域的探讨），vj在诸多的展示型场所都具有相当大的发展空间，例如服装show，乐队的现场演出甚至公共艺术等各个领域各种形式将会把vj这一行业推向更宽阔的舞台
